ENGLISH BIO

Born in Barcelona the 26th May 1960. Graduated in Classical Languages (University of Barcelona), and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature (University of Southampton, U.K.). He was Catalan Lector at Bristol University from 1989 to 1993. Presently he teaches Literary Translation in the Facultat de Ciències Humanes, Traducció i Documentació (University of Vic, Barcelona). He has published three books of poetry in Catalan, two of which were awarded, and an essay on the poetry of the Catalan literary critic Joan Ferraté, as well as a number of translations, mainly from English and French into Catalan and/or Spanish, among which we can mention works by Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Walter de la Mare, Mallarmé and Walt Whitman. He writes regularly for Caràcters , a Valencian literary magazine and has also worked sporadically in the field of songwriting, publishing two albums, available in the market. He is currently working in new projects, both lierary and musical.
